Give the receiving team a clear shipment brief
Explain what the products are, what they are made of and whether they are new, used, sold or being sent for another purpose. Identify the business receiving them and the destination city. Clear information helps the team identify the questions that need resolving before shipment.
Let us know if goods are palletised, stacked, fragile, unusually shaped or require lifting equipment. Include package dimensions rather than product dimensions. Photos can help explain an unusual piece, but do not replace an accurate written description.
Prepare your business enquiry
- Goods description, quantity, value and purpose of the shipment.
- Sender and receiver business details and destination.
- Number of cartons or pallets, packed dimensions and gross weights.
- Available invoice and packing information, ready date and delivery requirements.
Agree responsibilities before dispatch
Ask who will organise each part of the journey and which documentation needs checking. Confirm charges, destination handling and the information the receiver must provide. Never assume that a transport quotation includes every import charge or permission.

You can send estimated measurements for discussion. Make clear they are estimates and confirm final packed details before booking.
Do you accept every type of commercial product?
No shipment should be assumed acceptable. Declare its contents and any handling requirements so the team can check the proposed movement.
