Services and what you can send

What do customers usually send with you?

Household items, food items, toiletries, make-up and electronics are the most common. We handle every size of shipment, from a single envelope to a full chartered flight.

What do you not accept?

Undeclared contents and dangerous goods: loose batteries and battery contents, flammable liquids, perfumes, deodorants and any kind of spray, nail polish and nail polish remover, alcohol, explosives, currency notes, stamp paper, signed cheques, pornographic material and furs. See the full dangerous and prohibited goods list before packing.

Can I send food, spices or sweets?

Yes. Dry food, spices and sweets can be sent to worldwide destinations. List every food item on your packing list so the team can confirm it for the destination country.

Can I send a mobile phone, laptop or other items with batteries?

Yes, as long as they are declared. Lithium battery handling carries an extra charge set by the airline. Loose or undeclared batteries are not accepted.

Can I send medicines?

Yes, both personal and commercial medicines can be sent. Declare them on the packing list; the team confirms the destination requirements.

Is there a minimum weight or minimum charge?

No fixed minimum. We handle all weight categories, from one envelope to a full chartered flight. Every shipment is quoted individually.

Is there a maximum weight or size per box or suitcase?

For personal baggage a normal piece is 25–30 kg. Commercial shipments have no weight or size limit, but tell us the dimensions and weights before booking so the quotation is accurate.

Do you offer sea freight?

No. Goldcross Cargo is an air cargo specialist; all shipments travel by air.

Do you handle commercial cargo for businesses?

Yes, including invoices, packing lists and customs clearance paperwork for business consignments. See commercial cargo.

Prices and payment

How much does it cost? Do you have a price per kg?

There are no fixed prices. Every shipment is quoted individually according to its weight and destination. Send the packed weights, dimensions, collection postcode and destination and the team confirms a quotation before you book.

Do you offer packing, boxes or documentation?

Yes. Packing and documentation can be done by our team at an extra charge, as required to make the shipment secure for air cargo.

Is UK collection free?

Collection is free in some areas and available all over the UK at an extra charge. It is confirmed for your collection postcode when you ask for a quotation. Drop-off at our Hayes office is by appointment.

Who pays customs and handling charges at the destination?

Destination charges — customs, handling and any delivery — are paid by the receiving person at the destination, not included in the UK quotation.

How do I pay?

We prefer bank transfer or cash. The team confirms the payment arrangement with your quotation.

Timings

How long does air cargo take?

Typically 1–3 days by air, depending on airline availability, the destination and the routing. The team confirms the expected timing when you book.

How often do you ship?

We can send shipments any day, 7 days a week, subject to airline space.

How far in advance should I book?

At least one day before departure, subject to space availability. Earlier is better for large or commercial shipments.
