UK to Pakistan: a shipment enquiry checklist

Prepare a useful enquiry before making arrangements for a shipment to Pakistan. This checklist helps you gather information for a discussion with the cargo team; it is not a complete customs-document list or a statement of import eligibility.

Explain what is being sent and why

List the contents in plain language and say whether they are personal belongings, sold business goods, gifts, samples or something else. Do not assume that a description such as used items establishes a particular customs treatment.

Give the UK collection postcode and full destination city and address. If the receiver expects to collect the goods, ask where that would happen and what they need to arrange. A branch address does not by itself confirm a shipment handover point.

Bring these details to the enquiry

  • Sender and receiver contact details.
  • A numbered inventory with quantities and a clear purpose for the shipment.
  • Packed dimensions, weight and piece count.
  • Preferred date and any deadline.
  • A list of documents already available and questions about any missing information.

Get a shipment-specific document checklist

Ask the responsible team which documents and recipient arrangements apply to the goods being sent. Have any destination requirements checked against current official information before dispatch. Do not assume an exemption, duty rate or fixed delivery time from a previous shipment.

Confirm the transport option, destination charges and delivery or collection scope in writing. Our Islamabad office can be contacted through the Pakistan office page, while the UK team can discuss the originating enquiry.
