Describe the required conditions
State the required temperature range, the product's condition when handed over and any instructions supplied by the manufacturer or product owner. Do not use terms such as chilled or frozen without the actual range and handling requirements.
Explain the proposed packaging, quantity and time available. Tell us whether monitoring, special loading arrangements or controlled conditions at collection and delivery are required. Each part of the journey needs checking; an air journey alone does not establish a continuous temperature-controlled service.
Details for a handling review
- Product description and required temperature range.
- Packaging method, packed weight and dimensions.
- Origin, destination, ready date and maximum acceptable journey time.
- Monitoring requirements and any refrigerant or restricted material in the package.
Confirm the plan before packing
Ask the team to confirm route availability, packaging acceptance and the agreed handling scope in writing. Do not assume a specialist facility, temperature range or product approval is available for every destination.
Before you book
Can I use dry ice?
Declare it before booking. Ask the team to check packaging and acceptance requirements; do not add it to a shipment without confirmation.
